Splish Splash

It is a rainy day here, but it is better than ice, and maybe better than snow. I am not melting.

Well nothing much new. Josh has been busy with the first and second round NCAA women's bball tournament. The Iowa Hawks played in the second game on Sunday night, but couldn't pull out the win. They played Georgia Tech, they are a tough team. The first game was between Oklahoma and Prairie View A & M. Oklahoma won easily, but the Prairie View band won in the battle of the bands, they were great!

So tonight it is the second round, Oklahoma versus Georgia Tech. I will be going to help Josh, by taking more pictures of the set up of the arena. It also will be a good basketball game. The girls on those teams are huge! There is one girl on the Oklahoma team that promises to pay back her scholarship if her team doesn't win the tournament. That is $64,000 folks!!

Also I think the thing I am looking most forward to tonight is drinking my beverage from a vitamin water cup. Vitamin Water, must be a huge sponsor for this tournament. In the media room you can not leave without your beverage in a Vitamin Water cup. This means pouring your bottled water or can of pop into a cup. Talk about a waste of materials. I guess they want people to know that you are sponsoring Vitamin Water. Heck I just talked about it for a paragraph. However, there is no actual Vitamin Water available for consumption, strange?

Happy St Patrick's Y'all!

Holy Moly, it has been a long time since i wrote on this blog. I guess there hasn't been to many new things to report, but I can tell you what we have been up to.

I have been running and training for a couple of 5k's. There is one in Moline or Rock Island, I can never remember on April 25th. It is sponsored by Steve's Tap, woohoo a race sponsored by a bar, but the proceeds go to the red cross. Then I am running another race the next weekend on May 3rd for the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City. I know crazy, back to back races, but I will survive, it is only 3 miles in a race. Also the more the merrier, I am unsuccessful at recruiting runners. Josh will run with me, but I am looking to get more people motivated, so sign up or ask me.

Josh has been very busy with the upcoming NCAA 1st and 2nd round women's bball tournament. Carver Hawkeye will be hosting those games, as part of his job he is helping run the event. It was announced last night that Iowa will play Georgia Tech on Sunday night, so you should all get to Carver and cheer the women on, it could be a tough game. Then the winners of the 2 games on sunday will play Tuesday.

The weather here is super nice!!! It makes me wonder if there isn't something lurking around the corner, you know a big thunderstorm with tornadoes or do i even mention the s word, more snow some where in the forecast??? Today it is supposed to be 75, which is really nice. It is nice to see the sun, and open some windows at home.

Speaking of spring time nearing, i believe it will be here on Friday. I have a few crocus that have bloomed already, daring little flowers. I still have leaves and dead plant crap to clean up from last year. I like spring, time for the grass to green up, and the flowers are blooming.

Well that is about it, we lead not so exciting lives. Or something like that.

Happy Belated to Amb!

Wow, I have not been good with updates.

Last Sunday the 22nd, was Amber's 26th birthday. Josh had to work the Iowa bball, game. So I met up with mom and dad and we went down to the machine shed in davenport for supper. We listened to the bball game on the way down, and just when we got there it was over. Well, it was over, but tied so it was going to OT. We went into the restuarant and I asked if they would turn the one 5'' TV to the hawks game, and my head was biten off by the 1 person watchin nascar.

Anyway we ate some supper, and shared our gifts. Then went onto Amb's for the homemade ice cream and cake. mmmm good stuff. Hope Amb had a great day.

Then we basically have been doing the same old crap....

Last night was the last women's bball game at home for the season. American Idol finalist from like 2006 or 2007 sang the national anthem and at halftime. Here is a youtube link of the anthem. the sound recording on my camera isn't to great. However she was good!!!! I wish we could get more people in that could actually sing for the anthems. Or try this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FY3GchlnzvQ

Well nothing new to report, same old.

Josh is visiting his mom in Georgia for a few days. My dad has requested some peanuts out of the trip. Amber has a birthday coming up on Sunday. SO as you can see things are just so exciting!

Well not too much new to post. On Sunday we had a gathering at the house for my birthday, and of course what would a birthday be without the home made ice cream. We threw the ingredients into the mixing machine, then had them ready to go in the ice cream machine, and it wouldn's spin. We finally got it going, just in time for the 3 pizzas to arrive, from Happy Joes, sooo yummy. It was a good time, I had a great birthday this year!

Josh's basketball reffing is coming to an end, but he did get a district or playoff type game, so he is really excited, and it is a great accomplishment. He is also busy with the Iowa basketball programs as this year Iowa is hosting the first and second rounds of the women's NCAA tournament.

I have been busy finishing up my scrapbook from our wedding, yes I know that was like 2.5 years ago, but good work takes time. I also an preparing for another 5k in Moline in April, on the 25th to be exact. Any runners out there? the more the merrier, let me know and I can send on the details. The run is sponsored by a bar, how bad could that be?

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well look what my Uncle Tom found. Isn't this a great picture of me as a baby? I don't see much resemblence today, maybe the extra chins? Anyway I turned another year older today, I think I should start turning a year younger at some point.
