Winter Wonderland

Ever heard of "hoar frost" Well this past week we had a dose of it. The trees were just beautiful, yes that is the old lady in me speaking. Then the sun came out and it was realyl spectacular.

does Santa deliver wine?

That's right we ran out of wine on Christmas Eve...oh well we still had a great time. Josh and I hosted. We had a ton of food and fun. We got out the game scattergories, which turned into a boys verse girls match. We also played the crap in a bag game. A game which a bag gets passed around and you pick an item, it could be a great present or a piece of crap. within that round you can either keep your item or take someone elses. Always a good time.

Happy Birthday

to my mom! It was her 40th this year (plus a few years) Amber and Josh drove up to meet us at Old Chicago, we had some food and fun. Amber entertained us with her growing baby bump, while Josh poked and made the baby mad so it would kick. Mom got some new winter boots and some money to get a hair cut.

say cheese!

So we had an impromptu photo shoot...kona even got to take a few. It's that time of year, dust off those holiday sweaters and take a picture!

Baby Shower

I threw Amber a baby shower. We decorated some onesies, ate some food, played some games.

Thanksgiving 2010

Josh and I hosted Thanksgiving this year. It was low key! Amber stayed in D-port, so it was us, kona, mom and dad, soda, and Josh's friend "shake" We grilled some ribeyes and had all the traditional thanksgiving garb. We even had the first fire in our fireplace. Then during my thanksgiving nap, I was wakened by the smoke detector. The draft to the fireplace got shut and the house had filled with some smoke, it was a thanks giving to remember!

Then it was football season

Ok so we all now know about the football season and how it turned out. It was fun though, made it to a few away games. Had some good times. I went to the Indiana game and to the Minnesota game. Josh and I were even drug to an ISU game, it was hard, but we survived.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore even made an appearance

Then the fans were smart enough to stripe Kinnick Stadium

The mentioned ISU game, we got to tailgate all day

Then it was the Wisconsin game, Josh got to ref the rusty toolbox game, which is a flag football game between both teams managers the night before the game

Then we played Michigan State on Halloween, Herky arrived as Captain America

Then it was the Indiana game, a view from my seats

the Ohio state game was next, and we had a flyover, it was sooo low, check out youtube for videos

Follwed up by the dissapointing Minnesota game, it was cold!

Chicago

Then I traveled to Chicago to cheer my friend Kate on, she was doing the triathlon. I also was able to get my fill of Dunkin Donuts coffee!

On the road again

SO josh had a reffing conference in Minneapolis to go to in July, So I thought I would just take a few days off and visit my friend kate. She was acutally in Iowa City, so I rode up with her. We had time to kill so we thought we would visit all the road side attractions on the way, but there were only 2. The world's largest frying pan in Brandon, IA, and some random fish.

Father's Day

Then there was father's day in Guttenberg, where we learned some exciting news

home is where the hawk is

Just an example of the wallpaper

Well it's about time!

Ok people, I have been a bad blogger. I guess I will try and update the last 6 months in pictures. Keep in mind that the posts are in chronological order, but backwards.

Nothing else is new, I finally got back into running, I might have fought off the nasty shin splints and tendonitis. Josh has been busy with work and reffing, earlier this year his football crew reffed a quarter final game. Very exciting. The Iowa football team is going to a bowl, we are not going. Strange staying home this winter. We really miss Mexico.

Both Iowa basektball teams are fun to watch this year. The women are ranked nationally, the men have a new coach who is excited to be here.

so I will post some pics

soo busy

Well Josh and I bought a house. We are still in Iowa City, just a little farther east. We have a lot more room. It is very overwhelming, we don't know where to put things. It is also covered in wallpaper, so there is a lot to do! We also did not take any time off to move, so we are exhausted. If anyone wants to come cook me some food this weekend that would be great!

Otherwise we haven't been up to too much. Just hanging in there.

picture time

Hi people, here are some pictures from our whirl wind tour of the new Target field in MPLS, a nice new ballpark. Too bad the REd Sox lost that day 5-2. But if it is your opening day the home team should win.

Josh and I left Sunday afternoon after the Iowa Softball game, and we crashed at my friend Kate's house for the night, we were even greeted with Twins peanuts. kate has a swanky apartment!

We woke up did some exploring and then made it to the game. There were approximately 20 red sox fans around. The twins did a good job of keeping the tickets for themselves.

We had great seats in the right field. The ball park is super nice. It was also a super nice day to go to a game. We were so close to catching the first home run ball in the park, it was exciting! We were also seated under the flag that they raised for the national anthem.

After the game we booked it to kate's apt, then piled the crap in the car and headed home, it was a quick trip.

the story

here is a link to a story about the previous post

http://www.kcrg.com/sports/90738589.html

We're famous!

Well sort of. Josh and I went to the Minnesota Twins home opener in their new baseball park, Target Field to see the Red Sox. (More details & pictures coming soon)

The big news is the first homerun was hit about 4 rows behind us. So close. However a deservign kid caught the ball.

Enjoy the following video. Josh, Kate and I are in the video.

At about the 50 second mark they pan out, and Josh is in the bottom right corner clapping, he has the red shirt on with the hat, i am to the left in a red shirt and kate is next to me in a blue top with hat. IT was awesome.

Photo Albums

It appears that the blogger doesn't like more than one album on the page. SO click on the blog entry title on the left and you can access the photos.

technical difficulties?

ok so not sure what the problem is with the picture albums, hopefully it is not permanant

Up to date

SO does that bring things up to date? I think so....

Josh is now busy with baseball and softball. He umpires the baseball and he is one of the administrators for Iowa softball games. then he goes right into sports camps. There is no down time for us.

However we are going to MPLS next Monday to see the REd Sox play the twins on opening day for Minnesota and their fancy new ball park.

Easter was kind of lame for us this year. Josh had to work softball, I stayed home, Amber stayed and went to Josh's family, but Mom and dad had a party in Guttenberg.

Ted, Brenda and the neighbors came over and had a huge easter dinner with them. they also made a day trip to the potosi brewery, where dad claims the "beer sucked." I guess he tried 6 kinds.

I did manage to make some eggs.
