It's Prom time
So our little family friend, McKenz, was going to prom, it was her junior prom. So Amb and I had to go send her on her way. They had a little promenade in the high school gym. The times have certainly changed. Back in the day all is girls wore black dresses to prom, these days the color is everywhere.
That brings us to this week. Josh and I are going to watch the final Corridor Classic at the Kernals Stadium in Cedar Rapids tonight. It is a baseball game between the Iowa hawkeyes and the UNI panthers. The UNI baseball program was cut, so this is their last year. Bring on the hot dogs and peanuts.
Steve's Tap 5K
What a race! Or something like that. I recruited Josh and Amb to run the race with me. It was an overcast, humid Saturday. Temps in the 60's. The race course was not bad at all, there was only one hill. Which by the way I ran up, while all the other people were walking it. I of course ran the whole course.
We all finished the race, and well before last. I ran the fastest 5K ever, I ran a minute and 47 seconds faster than my last 5k. I have been battling shin splints, so this is good. We are running another race this next weekend, hope my legs hold up.
This race was sponsored by Steve's Tap, and there was ice cold beer at the finish line. We were all skeptical of beer after the race, but I had to do it, just to say I drank some beer after a 5k. The money for the race went to the red cross.

Hair Cut
Spring flowers
Looks like the tulips I randomly planted last year decided to pop up. Usually the squirrels in the 'hood replant the bulbs.
We have also had a few nice days weather wise, almost 70. So spring is upon us. Before we know it, it will be too hot, and we wont have time to mow the lawn. Josh will be knee deep in umpiring.
HOT DOG!

Happy Belated Easter
How was everyone's Easter? Hope it was good. Josh and I made a trip to the Gutt. We spent Saturday helping rake the leaves at the house, talk about a task, there were a lot of leaves. Josh also worked on his baseball and softball scheduling. On Sunday Amber and Josh drove up and we had ourselves a feast. It was a good time! I think I am going into a sugar coma!

Hangin Tough with NKOTB!!
I love the New Kids...ok I am a freak!
i won 2 tix from the radio...or actually they announced they were giving away tickets, it was morning time, i was in and out of sleep...so i was dreaming that i was dialing on my cell phone, but i just couldn't get the number right...just then i heard Josh's voice on the radio, so he saved the day...i really wanted to go, but couldn't afford the tix price....so i had 2 tickets...the tickets were like the worst in the whole arena, farthest from the stage...josh knows someone that works at the mark...so he put in a call...and traded my two tix for one tix very close to the stage....becuase no one wanted to go
There were these 2 girls seated behind me, eating some nachos or something...the bumped me on the back and said "We can't see!" I was like well then stand up you lazy bitches....but instead I gave them this look of disgust and moved over, since no one was next to me on one side...I kept giving them these looks of disgust...it is a concert, stand up!!!
Speakin of lazy bitches, i felt skinny last night!
Then there was this girl about 5 rows in front of me who kept showing her boobs, and there were kids in the area...talk about a girl making her mother proud!
So I enjoyed another NKOTB concert, I was able to get my camera in, I was so happy, So I have lots of pictures and some video. I hope they continue to record and tour. Everyone has their favorite band, this just happens to be mine.
Will someone play frisbee with me?
Poor dog, no one wants to ever play with me, can someone please throw me the frisbee, I can catch it in my mouth.
In other news, a follow up on that 4 am phone call from last week. Apparently a tenant of the house, decided he was hungry. He rustled up some grass and twigs and what not and started a fire in the shed in the back yard. Once the fire got going, he went to go get some hamburgers to cook. Yeah that guy sounds like a winner. I guess it was a good thing the city made us move that shed at least 6 feet from the house when we owned it, otherwise the news would be about a burned down 525. Glad we don't have to deal with retards like that.
